Honors Theatre Studies Thesis ~


In her Honors Thesis "Shakespeare’s Societal Others: An Exploration of Race, Religion, Sexuality, and Gender in The Merchant of Venice and Othello," Brock examines some of Shakespeare's most compelling and controversial characters like Shylock, Antonio, Othello, Katherine, Caliban, and Ariel and the societies they inhabit, culminating in a look at what makes an outsider and what Shakespeare says about them.

Mini Honors Thesis ~


As the first step in the process of writing her Honors Thesis and graduating with Honors, Brock examines racism, colonialism, and sexism in Shakespeare's  The Tempest and Aimé Césaire's A Tempest in her mini-thesis, "Shakespeare and Césaire: Solving One Problem and Creating Another." She read it and took questions at "Essays on the Theme of Shakespeare," representing Theatre Studies in Tisch Drama's All Department Festival!
